"The Perfect Couple" revolves around a shocking death that derails a wedding in Nantucket, MA.
The six-part series is headed up by Hollywood icon Nicole Kidman.
Here's a rundown of the cast and the other shows they've worked on.
"The Perfect Couple," Netflix's new binge-worthy series, has arrived just in time for the start of fall.
Based on Elin Hilderbrand's bestselling novel of the same name, "The Perfect Couple" follows the wealthy Winbury family, headed up by crime novelist Greer Garrison Winbury (Nicole Kidman) and her husband Tag Winbury (Liev Schreiber).
The Winburys have spared no expense for their son Benji's (Billy Howle) wedding, which will be held on the grounds of their Nantucket, MA, estate.
However, the picture-perfect nuptials are put on hold when a body turns up on the beach just outside the family home on the morning of the ceremony — and everyone in the wedding party becomes a suspect.
Business Insider has taken a look at the cast and what they have appeared in before the new series.
Nicole Kidman plays Greer Garrison Winbury, a crime novelist and the matriarch of the Winbury clan.
As audiences see in the first episode of the series, Greer is a formidable force.
An acclaimed murder mystery novelist, her storybook romance of marrying into a high-society family like the Winburys has made her a celebrity in her own right.
She's also obsessed with maintaining her family's pristine image and has doubts about her son's choice of a wife.
A five-time Oscar nominee (she won best actress in 2003 for her performance in the 2002 film "The Hours"), Kidman is the biggest star in the cast.
While the Australian actor made her name in movies like "Moulin Rouge" and "Eyes Wide Shut," she has turned more to television roles in recent years.
Some of her recent television projects include "Big Little Lies," "Roar," "Nine Perfect Strangers," and "The Undoing."
Kidman worked with Susanne Bier, who directed all six episodes of "The Perfect Couple," on "The Undoing."
Liev Schreiber plays Tag Winbury, whose family legacy and wealth goes back generations.
The laidback Liev is accustomed to a life of leisure. He inherited the vast Nantucket estate known as Summerland from his moneyed parents.
Schreiber is perhaps best known for his role in the long-running television Showtime drama "Ray Donovan," in which he played a professional fixer.
The actor has also appeared in several "Scream" films, "Spotlight," and "X-Men Origins: Wolverine."
Abby Winbury, who has married into the family, is played by Dakota Fanning.
When we meet her in the first episode, Abby Winbury is expecting her first child with Benji's older brother, Tom.
Fanning starred in "Ripley," another Netflix series, and the horror film "The Watchers" earlier this year.
The actor first rose to fame as a child thanks to her memorable roles in "Uptown Girls," "War of the Worlds," and "Charlotte's Web."
Audiences may also recognize Fanning from her role as a villainous vampire in the "Twilight" saga.
Her other notable roles include "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood" and "The Alienist."
Eve Hewson plays Amelia Sacks, the bride.
Amelia is a down-to-earth zookeeper who caught the eye of the middle Winbury son while she was at work, so it's not hard to understand why she's feeling a bit like a fish out of water at Summerland.
Hewson, who is the daughter of U2 front man Bono, has previously appeared in Netflix's thriller "Behind Her Eyes," which was also based on a book.
The Irish actor is also known for her role in Apple TV+'s "Bad Sisters."
Her movie credits include "Flora and Son" and the 2018 version of "Robin Hood," in which she played Maid Marian opposite Taron Egerton as the titular character.
Meghann Fahy plays Amelia's maid of honor, an influencer named Merritt Monaco.
Merritt is Amelia's best friend, which appears to rub the Winburys the wrong way.
Fahy is probably best known for playing the scene-stealing Daphne in season two of "The White Lotus."
Viewers may also recognize her from her role in Freeform's "The Bold Type" and her appearances on "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," "Chicago Fire," and "Gossip Girl."
Billy Howle plays Benji Winbury, Amelia's groom and the Winbury's golden boy.
Benji is the apple of Greer and Tag's eye. A talented painter, Benji adores his bride-to-be.
British actor Howle has starred in the crime dramas "The Beast Must Die," "The Serpent," and "Under the Banner of Heaven."
He may be familiar to Netflix subscribers as he played Edward, Prince of Wales in the film "Outlaw King."
Jack Reynor plays Benji's older brother, Thomas Winbury.
As the eldest Winbury son, Thomas has tried his best to live a life his parents would approve of: he works on Wall Street, has married well, and will soon give them their first grandchild. However, beneath the veneer of perfection, Thomas is struggling.
Some of Reynor's notable film roles include "Midsommar," "Transformers: Age of Extinction," and "Macbeth."
He previously starred alongside Eve Hewson in the Apple TV+ movie "Flora and Son."
Sam Nivola plays Will Winbury, the youngest member of the Winbury family.
Will is the groom's teenage brother and the youngest of the Winburys.
Nivola is the son of British actor Emily Mortimer and her husband, Alessandro Nivola.
He has previously played the son of Leonard Bernstein in Bradley Cooper's Oscar-nominated "Maestro" and starred in the films "White Noise" and "Eileen."
Ishaan Khatter plays Shooter Dival, the best man and a childhood friend of Benji's.
Shooter is treated as an honorary member of the Winbury family, having known Benji since they were at boarding school together.
Khatter, the son of Bollywood stars Rajesh Khattar and Neelima Azeem, has previously starred in the films "Beyond the Clouds" and "Pippa."
Michael Beach plays the chief of the local police, Dan Carter.
Dan and his daughter Chloe live locally and know all about the wealthy Winburys, although they've had little reason to interact with them over their years living on Nantucket.
Audiences may recognize Beach from his roles playing Al Boulet in the medical drama "ER" and TO Cross in "Sons of Anarchy."
More recently, he has starred in "Mayor of Kingstown" and "Dead Boy Detectives."
Donna Lynne Champlin plays Nikki Henry, an out-of-town detective brought in to help solve the murder.
Nikki is a no-nonsense detective who doesn't defer to the Winburys like everyone else on Nantucket.
Champlin has previously worked with "The Perfect Couple" director Bier on the TV series "The First Lady," but she is perhaps best known for playing Paula Proctor in the sitcom "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend."
Mia Isaac plays Chloe Carter, the local chief of police's teenage daughter.
Chloe doesn't run in the same circles as the Winburys, but she was going to enter their realm for just one day, as she had landed a job as a waitress at the wedding.
Viewers may have seen Isaac in the TV series "Black Cake" or the satire-comedy "Not Okay," in which she starred alongside Zoey Deutch.
Isabel Nallet, a close family friend of the Winburys, is played by Isabelle Adjani.
Isabel, whose ties to the Winbury family go back a long way, has traveled from France just to attend the nuptials.
The French actor is known for her roles in the films "Possession," and "The Story of Adèle H."
The latter earned her a best actress Academy Award nomination in 1976.
