NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — New York State transit workers have until Labor Day to get vaccinated or face weekly testing, Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced Monday.
That applies to Metropolitan Transportation Authority and Port Authority of New York and New Jersey employees.
Last week, the governor ordered state hospital workers to get vaccinated, with no testing option.

In New York City, Mayor Bill de Blasio said Monday all new city hires must prove they’re vaccinated before they can start their job.
The city also started requiring public health care workers to show proof of vaccination or a negative test result.
The mayor and health commissioner said they “strongly recommend” people wear masks indoors — regardless of their vaccination status — but stopped short of a mask mandate.
