Police: Suspect Shot At Officer While Trying To Flee Crash On Long Island

NORTH BABYLON, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) — Investigators say a suspect fired a gun at a police officer on Long Island on Saturday.

According to police, the officer saw the suspect trying to drive away from a crash on Parkdale Drive in North Babylon.

Moments later, his vehicle stopped working, and he got out and ran, allegedly firing his gun at the officer chasing him.

Police say the suspect was eventually found hiding in the backyard shed of a home on Mohawk Drive. The gun was found in a nearby pool.
